In addition to ordering prints that will be packaged and shipped to your address, you can also purchase digital downloads direct to your computer. A purchase of digital downloads is not refundable.
Personal Use
If you have a personal web page or blog, which does not sell products or services, we offer a low-cost license. The 2.4 megapixels option is wide enough to fill an HD display (1920x1080) yet is taller than HD because the aspect ratio {width:height) is different.
- Personal use ........... 1-megapixel (1232x824) or 2.4 megapixels (1920x1280)
Corporate use
Several licenses are available for various corporate or commercial uses. For example:
- Social media & Email use .................................... FHD (1920 x 1080 px)
- Website Commercial use .................................... WQHD (2560 x 1440 px)
- Editorial Commercial Use ...................................11 megapixels
- Advertising Commercial Use .............................11 megapixels
Most photos have an aspect ratio of 3:2 and the 11 megapixel downloads are also 3:2; no cropping is required. The smaller sizes (FHD and WQHD) are standard display sizes with an aspect ratio of 16:9; during the check-out process, you will need to crop the image.
Where is the option for download?
Most images do have download purchase options, but not all. More about that in the next paragraph.
As there are multiple paths to purchase products, the simplest path (Quick Shop) does not immediately show options for digital downloads.
- Any image gallery will show a Buy button near the top right of your screen. That will allow you to select multiple images.
- If you double click to open an individual image, you will see the Quick Shop, which does not show all products.
- From the Quick Shop, click the big Visit Shop button to see additional products.
What if an option for digital download is Not shown for a particular image?
You may see some images at NewEngland.photo for which there is currently no option for digital download. There are a variety of reasons why that can be true. Sometimes it is a matter of image size or shape. Another reason is concern about model or property release. For example, a cityscape may include the name of a corporation on the side of a building and that tends to render the image useless to any other company. Although I do commonly edit such images to resolve the problem, these edits are typically marketed through stock photography agencies and not here at NewEngland.photo. Send us an inquiry, likely we can arrange what you need.
None of the download licenses quite fits my need.
Yes, that is entirely possible because NewEngland.photo default licenses are intentionally kept to a bare minimum. Send us a message using the Contact form and we can discuss a custom license that fits your needs. Experienced photo buyers know that licensing can be horribly complicated and NewEngland.photo seeks the middle ground between unrealistically simple and unrealistically complex.
Digital image sizes
2.4 megapixels (1920x1280) is more than enough to fill a display screen that is full HD (1920x1080)
11 megapixels is more than enough to fill a display that is 4K UHD (3840×2160)
11 megapixels can also be printed 300dpi at Letter size (8.5 x 11")
